How to Crop an Image
You will need to resize your picture to fit your advertisement - if your picture is more than 68w x 90h pixels it will not upload to EMAGIN®. In this tutorial, we've used MSPaint, which is available on many computers, but you could use any imaging programme, following the instructions in the help menu for that programme.
| 1) Open Microsoft Paint, use the file menu to find the picture you'd like to resize (choose "File - Open", and browse to the image you are looking for). |
| 2) Next choose the rectangular selection tool in the upper right corner of the toolbox |
3) Now select the part of the image you want to keep.
A dotted line will show you the part of the image you have selected |
| 4) In the menu, click Edit >Copy |
| 5) Click anywhere on the file outside the part of the image you have selected. |
6) Move the mouse to the lower right corner of the image. Outside the image there is a small, blue 'handle' point - your cursor changes shape when you hover over it.
Pull the handle (click and drag) to can resize the image. Resize the image to something that's smaller than the part you want to keep, it doesn't matter if it's really tiny. |
| 7) Select Edit>Paste in the edit menu |
| 8) This should return the image you had previously at a new size |
9) To save, select File > Save as. |
10) Select 'jpeg' or 'gif' from the picture type dropdown
Choose where on your computer to save the image. Choose somewhere you will find it easily when you need to upload it to EMAGIN® |
